OFFICIAL NEWS RELEASE

Plans are being made for the Worldwide Escape Artist’s Relay, otherwise known as, W.E.A.R.!  The event will take place at various locations around the world on October 29 as escape artists everywhere join together in this globe-encompassing effort.   Each escapist will perform before two or more witnesses within a timed sequence and then log the completion of their event and the names of the witnesses live on the internet.   The event is being held to raise the awareness of the art before the eyes of the world and will be accomplished by escape artists of all ages, both genders and within many types of venues.    The escapes are timed so as to follow the dateline as it moves westward from Australia to California.  As it does this single event will include over fifty escape artists, generate the most publicity for a single escape-related event and cover more miles than any other such event in history.  Breaking these records makes this event, “Bigger than Houdini!”  The folks at the Guinness World Book of Records have been contacted to determine if they would like to document this world record event.

04/13/05 Some artists are beginning to gain some coverage for W.E.A.R. as they perform.  Rob and Pat Evans start us off.
